Door and windows is a whole. They are made of profiles, glass, hardware, strips and other materials that are combined through systematic and scientific design. They are functional products with wind pressure resistance, heat insulation, sound insulation and other properties. The material and structure of the aluminum profiles determine the firmness, thermal insulation, and wind pressure resistance of the entire window.
How to distinguish pure aluminum from recycled aluminum?
The quality of aluminum profiles can be directly distinguished, especially primary aluminum and recycled aluminum. Good-quality aluminum profiles generally have full-color and clean cut surfaces, while inferior aluminum profiles generally have a relatively dull surface color. In particularly, when you feel it with your hands, profiles made of virgin aluminum are flat, smooth and grain-free, but the opposite is completely different for inferior ones.
The larger the frame series/thickness, the better?
Generally speaking, the 65, 90, 108, 120 series, etc. refer to the width of the window frame (after the profile and heat insulation strip are combined). But it does not mean that the larger the width and size of the window frame, the better the performance of the door and window. However, the wider the insulation strip (with the same structure, sealing, and glass configuration), the better the thermal and sound insulation of the entire window.
The aluminum thickness of doors and windows must be thick enough, not to say that the thicker the better, but to meet the objective and actual requirements. According to the new “Aluminum Alloy Door and Windows” national standard GB/T8478-2020, the guiding standards for the wall thickness of the main stress-bearing parts of door and window profiles: exterior windows ≥ 1.8mm, exterior doors ≥ 2.2mm, excluding small materials and special accessories. Depending on the floor environment, you also need to pay attention to the selection. If it is in coastal areas and high floors, facing wind pressure problems, the overall doors and windows need to consider the wind pressure and load-bearing. There are also users who use oversized doors and windows to seal the balcony. When choosing It is recommended to use profiles (1.7~3.0MM wall thickness products), and it is reasonable to choose 1.4mm wall thickness for low-floor balconies.
